The midnight hour creeps ever closer, and so it's time for this month's Fiendinsh Final Thoughts:
• Our fursuit walk will follow the standard route. As always it's weather permitting, so we'll keep checking the forecast right up until 2pm Saturday.
• Bottled water is allowed! The venue are happy for you to keep bottled water with your fursuits. Other drinks, as always, are not allowed.
• Following recent discussions about meet age limits, we would like to remind people that Birmingham Furmeets are for people aged 16 years and over ONLY. There is absolutely no negotiation on this rule. People attempting to avoid this rule, or helping others avoid this rule, will face a permanent ban. The venue have given their full support to this rule, and will work with us to uphold it. You can find more details here: http://www.birminghamfurs.org.uk/…/birmingham-fur-meet-age-…

Following recent discussions about meet age limits, we would like to remind people that Birmingham Furmeets are for people aged 16 years and over only. There is absolutely no negotiation on this rule. People attempting to avoid this rule, or helping others avoid this rule, will face a permanent ban.
Having under-16s at the venue is a direct breach of their bar licence, which could open them up to fines and legal action. Any breaches of this licence will also implicate Birmingham Furs Ltd, which will not only lead to the loss of our current venue, but will permanently risk our reputation among all venues within Birmingham. As such, Birmingham Furs Ltd would cease to operate, which would mean the end of our furmeets.
Birmingham Furs Ltd has written Terms and Conditions in place with the venue, and they have given their full support to this rule. We will be working together to uphold the age limit.
Therefore, the venue will be running spot checks, much the same as when you buy alcohol from them. If we believe that a person is under 16, that person is responsible for providing proof-of-age ID. This is either a passport, a driving licence, or a card with a PASS logo. Other items (such as printed documents, images on a phone, or a letter from your mum) will not do, no matter how official-looking. As a rule, if you are clearly 16 or over, you won't have to worry about being spot-checked.
However, the future of these meets depends on ALL of us (not just the organisers, not just the younger attendees, not just the venue) working together on this matter. Therefore, if anyone is aware of this kind of behaviour, please send us an email to email@example.com. You can comment anonymously if you wish, and your comment will be kept in the strictest confidence. Any queries on this matter can be directed to your Attendee Reps, Gops and Kriss, either directly or via the same email address.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
